Hardcore completion bug

If you die while running on hardcore, you can complete (or not(?)) a single level in the stage select and the "continue" will be back like if you had left your current game instead of dying. So it makes the achievement obtainable "pretty" easily. At first, I've thought that it would reduce the difficulty or prevent me to get the hardcore completion achievement but it didnt stopped me.

I also guess that it's also applicable on other difficulties.
