The Sphinx is literally impossible

There's no consistent way to avoid the fireballs in the second phase, as it gets way too frantic before you deplete 10% of its health.

let me rephrase that, press W and A or W and D to side step around the head when it is launching a fireball to dodge it. I just killed it for the first time on hard difficulty, without taking damage less then a hour ago (at 2:21 pm est which is when I got the achievement for doing so).

I'm actually stuck at this guy too lol. Are there unlimited enemy spawns? I run out of ammo killing the minions. I watched a few videos of the boss and there doesn't seem to be nearly as many enemies in the videos, so I was wandering if the boss changed or something. If I focus on the boss, I just get overwhelmed by regular enemies

I just beat it OP. Apparently you have to beat it fast and then hardly any enemies appear. I just ran up to the Sphinx and used my minigun till I ran out of ammo, then switched to the super shotgun. Good luck!

BTW, PRAY mummies never spawns. Those bastards can drop your health really fast.

Nope, I give up, I can safely say now: LITERALLY. IMPOSSIBLE.

Either the enemy spam needs to be toned down severely, OR there needs to be more GOOD healing items, OR the Sphinx needs to chill out. Because All those three issues together makes it literally impossible.

Even with cheats to get myself to level 80 with almost 600 HP, the second phase alone EASILY took out 300+ HP like it was nothing! None of the previous bosses puts that much of an unfair fight!

Okay, there are hardly any spawns, if you do it right. Just grab the minigun and position yourself directly in front of the Sphinx. Then spray and avoid her projectiles until she is dead.

Kill the mobs that spawned. Then kill the Sphinx head. I did it with the mage staff, just channeling for the strong beam all the time. Idk what weapons is most effective here, tho. If you keep distance from the head in phase two, its easier to dodge her.

I am sure you can do it aswell, dont give up. Good luck!

That's what I did, but can't kill fast enough and RNG says "Here, have some mummies and mages to drain your health EXTRA FAST while you are busy with a static target.

And then in the second phase it becomes a DPS race halfway through.

Also did find some oddity: Something can drain the last 4th health of the first phase instantly, possibly an infighting?

So, without video footage of you its hard to find out, why it didnt worked for you. But maybe you could try to search for other people on youtube and see how they did the sphinx. You shouldnt really get damaged by her in the first phase, since you just can run in front of her and strafing left - right to dodge her projectiles, while emptying your minigun on the head.

Again, the real issue of the first phase is spawned enemies. Specially Tough Mummies. By the time you notice they spawned you'll just be wondering how you lost a sizable chunk of health.

seem you can stun-lock the sphinx in the first phase and prevent almost any spawn/attack. to do that use strong attack like grenade

I didn't have much problem at all with the Sphinx, so I guess I'll drop a recommendation. Try some spells, specifically Storm Rage. I used Storm Rage from the moment I got it to the end of the game, and it was quite effective. Because the orb sticks around for a bit and automatically damages enemies, playing around it may make the enemy spawns more manageable, as it deals fairly heavy damage and can manage to kill weaker enemies before they get a shot at you.
And, as always, movement is key. Circle straferunning is what I used and I didn't have a huge problem with dodging, but I was also using the Sprinter perk.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that (unfortunately) Storm Rage does not damage the Sphinx itself. It will only be useful for damaging the enemies that spawn during the fight.

honestly stage 1>>> hand garande + harvester/flack gun (was focusing on healt and ammo capaticy, plus increased runing speed perk ) first trow hand grandes then fish off with harvester/flack gun
stage 2 >>> harvester or heavy bolter and strife around thing dies wery fast final boss much biger pain in ass than spinx
edit:forgot to add that sprinter perk makes thing much much esier
