Aaaand I am done with this (Tank Boss is broken)
This started out as a great game, but every level just became more and more of a mess than the one before it. Currently in the City levels, and the uninspired (and broken) mess that was its missions.

(A completely dark level, and your only light is an idiotic Doom-like light source, where you can't shoot AND have light at the same time? Sweet lord, is that a bad idea)

Now I'm at the boss (Huge tank), and how the F are you supposed to beat it? It just constantly rams into you with speed greater than your own movement, so you can't sidestep, you can't dodge, and you can't grind it down faster than it can grind you down.
Just spent 10 lives trying out different strategies against it, but now I'm done.

Thanks for the headaches, Project Warlock, but that's it.

Press H to auto-sprint, like games have done of this genre since the very early 90's. Also if you get the ability that makes you run at an even faster than normal speed, then the boss is a joke.

ALSO ALSO, you can just stand in the elevator through that entire battle and shoot the tank without being damaged once (broken and poor level design I know, but it still makes your point redundant)

The tank is actually the easiest boss in the entire game. Use H to toggle sprint, then get the sprinter perk to be even faster. The tank won't have a chance then.

I've read something similar on GOG forum (about Tank boss) but surprisingly, I've finished him twice and didn't had any problem at all (finished GOG version, but there shouldn't be any differences). Basically I've shot into turret with the strongest weapons I had (probably minigun or rocket launcher) and it didn't even took me more than half of minute to completely obliterate him. In fact all three previous bosses were IMO stronger than Tank (maybe because you didn't had all weapons at hand).

The tank boss is literally the easiest one in the game, especially with the sprinter perk.

Like I actually think the tank should be reworked or buffed so it's not a joke, it doesn't even shoot in spite of having two huge cannons strapped to it.

And I like how in Doom 3 you used to have to make a choice between having your flash light or your gun out, it made the game a lot scarier but in this game it does feel kinda out of place.

This boss really does need to be reworked by the dev, even the spite is lazy looking.

"Git gud" is all well and gud, but this wasn't my first rodeo with these games - I've finished the old Wolfensteins and Quake without issue. When I say it was broken, I mean broken, as in "litterally not able to finish it". It wasn't a matter of not dodging quickly enough, it was a matter of not being able to dodge it at all, as it just kept ramming into me.
(I also tried looking for patterns - perhaps I had to stand still for a second, so it would fire its cannon instead of something - but no such luck. It just kept ramming and ramming until I ran out of HP)

I've finished the game now, in part thanks to the people who suggested the "Sprint" toggle - which, btw, is a function I never saw mentioned anywhere and which was not needed for any other part of the game.
So great job on that, devs.
And suggesting that you need to take a certain perk to even beat a boss is not great advice, guys - perks are meant to help you adapt your playstyle, not be a requirement for completion.

And yeah, I agree - with sprint toggled, the tank boss is laughable, and I never got hit even once while fighting it. The same with the final boss, which - without sprint - was a bit of challenge, but with it? Absolute cakewalk.

Hi

Perk is not needed to kill the boss. You just have to change from "walking" to "running" using the "always run" button.

Best Regards,
Jakub

I know what you mean, my friend was streaming the game on discord and the boss goes way too fast. The term "Git gud" is void here due to the fact when he tried to fight the boss, even with the sprinter perk, it goes too fast. It has a interval of moving every 3 seconds (about) and it takes less than a second to hit you, any explanation?

I know where OP is coming from too, the boss is completely broke.
