This game literally changed my life...
This game (back in 1996) got me seriously addicted to MMO gaming and more importantly web and software development. I used it as my muse to create the Meridian 59 Bible. A completely static website (now defunct). This site sucked compared to Gilroy's, but it was fun to create.

The time spent playing this game and EverQuest/UO inspired me to create a couple of DB driven sites called GuildVault.com and PlayerVault.com. I sold both of those to IGN/GameSpy in 1999 and immediately used my new skills to make a career in building and maintaining boards.ign.com and vnboards.ign.com. I worked for IGN for 10 years.

I am so happy to see this game is now open source and on steam. Thanks to the devs for creating it and the community for supporting it.

Oh, I also remember driving thru flooded Arizona streets in the middle of a monsoon to get the demo/beta CD that was an insert in one of the PC gaming magazines. #memories

I also remember a fantastic trip to Vegas with other guild members of server 102 at the time.

I remember you in the community 'Conan' and frequented your website many times as a 14-16 year old playing Meridian 59 back in the early days of this kind of gaming. It was a really special time, that's great you wound up using those skills later in life. You're not alone. Hope you get chance to log into the game world again, as of writing this, there are several unique individuals running around smashing insects, hunting avars, or managing their inventory. Thanks for the memories, your website, and keeping the game alive in your heart.

Thank you Mayhem! I'm going thru old archives/storage to see if I can find a CD w/ the original m59bible site. If I find it -- I'll stick it up on S3. As soon as time permits -- I'll create an account and login as well =)

Like Mayhem, I remember frequenting that site at about the same age. That's so cool that you went on to work for IGN! Awesome career, I bet. Glad to see people that appreciate M59 are still around! :)
