How do you talk to NPCs?

I got to the blacksmith and couldn't figure out how to speak to him. Any tips?

get close to them and type buy to buy or offer to sell, i think theres hotkeys you can setup as shortcuts as well.

There are also sometimes special phrases you can say which totally depends on the NPC. I recommend looking at some of the Wiki sites for hints on how to interact with each one.
