Game not working on newer computers? Check out this easy fix

I've been wanting to play Catherine Classic since I got a new pc but the game wasn't starting/loading. I tried a whole bunch of stuff for weeks! and couldn't get anything to work. I found an old Reddit thread and someone posted a day ago saying "all you have to do is set compatibly mode to Windows 95" and they were right. If you don't know what "setting compatibly mode" is, don't worry, I didn't either.

Step 1: click the cogwheel for Catherine Classic on steam

Step 2: hover over manage and click browse local files (it will open file explorer)

Step 3: Find the .exe file for Catherine (mine was just called “Catherine” with the game logo next to it)

Step 4: Right click the .exe file and click on properties (It will open “Catherine Properties”)

Step 5: In Catherine Properties, Click the “Compatibility” tab at the top

Step 6: Find a section in the compatibility tab called “Compatibility mode”

Step 7: Click the Box that says “Run this program in compatibility mode for:”

Step 8: Change the Windows to “Windows 95”

Step 9: Click apply at the bottom

Step 10: Enjoy

Note* I tried some of the other windows like 7 and 8 but didn’t work so I would just say stick to what the person on reddit said :3

Another note* My game was crashing after the first level but I just turn off "Bloom" and "Blur" in the actually game setting (in the Graphics tab) and that fix it so :3

Or close MSI afterburner if you have it running. Worked for me

Just "Run as administrator" helped me without "Windows 95" mode.

The game has issues with MSI after burner or any overlay for that matter . Mangohud for some damn reason works perfectly though .
