I'm having this same exact issue, along with screen flickering. Can't even get past the first cutscene without the game crashing.
I tried this... Managed to stop the flickering, but the game still crashed. Really hope there is a fix for this soon...
So in my last post, I said that the game wasn't running smoothly at all. I said the game was stuttering and crashed even before game-play. Well, I noticed these things only happened when I was trying to capture the game either with OBS or Nvidia's Shadowplay Service. When I wasn't using these features, the game would run well with none of these abnormalities it seems.
Last night I was able to successfully record the game without it stuttering or crashing by putting in some new commands using OBS. Of course I have to mention that I am by no means an expert when it comes to PC. I quite recently just got into PC gaming actually when compared to my history with consoles but here is what I did to help sort out things:
-Instead of using 'Game Capture' within OBS I switched it to 'Window Capture'.
-In settings of the game or 'Configuration' I changed the Display to: 1280 x 720 (Resolution).
Display Mode: Windowed (This was more or less used to watch the game simultaneously on OBS while gaming to see how it looked being that I only have one monitor at the moment.)

OUT OF SYNC VIDEO [SOLVED]
Again, I'm no expert or anything with PC but these are some changes I've made last night that helped me have a better experience with both playing and recording. I hope this helps.
Also, Being that I'm recording the game using the windows settings instead of Game Capture, I noticed the video would be out of sync with the audio. I assumed this was a problem on my end and not on the end of the game. What I did to fix this was went over to DESKTOP AUDIO and right clicked on the gear icon to go into the properties tab. I *Unchecked USE DEVICE TIMESTAMPS* After I did this the video came out perfectly in sync with the audio.
