Will a Persona fan enjoy this?
I love Persona games because the story is interesting, each cast is fun and unique, and the music is so GOOD. I know Catherine's game play is nothing like Persona and I don't mind that but can it match or come close to Persona with the above I mentioned or is it mostly fan service?

The story and characters are probably one of my favourites, the music is also fantastic, plays out a lot like Persona I thought. A little more adult oriented, you hang out with your friends in a bar a lot like Persona and have crazy dreams at night. Just replaces the jrpg combat with a awesome block puzzle game instead.

I think this was kinda made inbetween Persona 4 & 5 as a slightly less extensive test before they tackled the larger Persona 5. Fit's right inbetween like a spiritual sequel, almost the same universe I think.

Not sure if persona is the core overlapping audience, but the game is good

Alrighty then. I’ll probably get it next time it’s on sale, thanks.

It's a good one, a lot more interesting than persona 5 in my opinion. The dialogue is great and when you get it, it feels like a relaxing break from the brutal gameplay. It's Atlus, game's solid.

It's quite different but overall yes for sure

Im not fan of anime or anime games, but this was good. I guess I gotta give try to Persona 5 if it ever comes to PC if its similar in universe (and not just teen fantasy of teens saving the world).

I'm a Persona fan and I love this. It shares some similarities, but don't go in expecting it to be the same thing. It's mechanics are basically a watered down version of Persona's. There are 2 main parts to the game. The Puzzles (taking up the role of a dungeon in Persona) and the bar (taking up the role of daily management). At the bar, you talk with people, drink, and text people, as well as being able to listen to music and play an altered version of the games puzzle mechanics. Use this time for practicing and advancing the story. Time passes when you perform certain activities, so you may miss out on conversations. Texting is a pretty unique part of the game where you can combine pre-made phrases into full texts, which I would assume have an effect on how the story plays out.

I'm also a huge Persona fan, played 3,4 & 5.
You might enjoy this game as well though i wouldn't say the games are that similar.

I wasn't a huge fan of Persona 5 though in comparision to the other games, so for me Catherine>Persona 5

I got it on sale and so far I'm enjoying it. I think I prefer the time spent on the bar vs the dungeons, not to big on puzzles but it's not a deal breaker.

as a persona player i enjoyed the story line and choices made in the game
but could never finish it due to being to slow on the puzzle mechanics and always wind up falling to my death durning block jumping

Vincent actually had a cameo-appearance[static.wikia.nocookie.net] in Persona 3 Portable[www.siliconera.com] 5 years before Catherine got released.
