Temporal Fixes for Catherine Katherine
Temporal fixes for Catherine Katherine

Hey, This is Fascination here, and today.
I am going to show you how to improve the performance of Catherine for the pc version.
Now, I cannot guarantee if this game would either crash, cause weird glitches or bugs or perhaps it won’t even play certain cut scenes.
But with this method, we can actually get a further improvement on the game itself so my fellow gamers, Let’s get this started.

Improving performance in the game

First off, what you want to do is to try to go to your steam library and right click on Catherine and select properties.

This will open up the properties box and what you want to do now is to go on the general tab which is probably opened up by default and click on the set launch options
it will open up a box with an empty rectangle on it,

what you’re going to do is that you are going to write
-force-d3d11 and make sure that you wrote the same thing as I did, this will force the game to run at direct x11.
Then once you’re done, you click okay.
And then you close the properties box too while you’re at it.

Saving Fullscreen and Windows settings

The next step isn’t necessary, so you can start playing the game as it is the way right now, but if you want to fix the save full screen settings or keeping it windows mode after you close or open up your game, what you want to do is simple.
Just go to the steam library and right click the game and select properties once more, go to the local files tab and click on Browse local files. It will take you to the game directory and what you want to do is right click on the game and go to properties, go to the compatibility tab and check on run this program as an administrator, then you click okay to go.
Once you’re done, Run the game and enjoy

Msi afterburner or any overlay program crashes

The last time I benchmarked this game it crashes right on the atlus logo, but there is a cheeky way to get around with this.

Simply close any overlay programs, then play the game at windows mode until you make it to the main menu, then you open up your msi afterburner or any other overlay program and voila, no more crashes and you can benchmark the performance of the game, I haven' tested this on fullscreen yet, but if anyone else did, feel free to tell me your experiences on the comments below.

Hope this helps to anyone who is struggling to have a consistent framerate on the game.
