Is a fresh playthrough on Hard Mode impossible?

On 2-3 I get to the part in 1:58 in the video below in almost the same amount of time (Considering you only get two drinks for that night). I definitely feel like I have a lead but every time, without fail, pretty much the entire ground under me and two blocks above me collapses and there seems to be no way to get around it. No matter how far ahead I am, this just magically happens. Am I just bad at Hard Mode or is this abnormal?

For the record, this has happened EVERY TIME. Never had this issue on Normal. Also am using the beta patch.

I had no problem with 2-3 I also used MasterLL's videos for this playthrough. I'm not in the beta branch. Try to find another video, maybe it will be different. I did that for 1 or 2 levels.

If you're in the Beta branch that will always happen it seems, so if you are, opt out and play the stage again.

its the beta branch, the blocks fall and what not at an insane speed because of the 60 fps shenanigans I'm pretty sure.

can't talk about things being weird because of the beta branch but i can assure you everything is possible on hard. after having played the 360 version i went ahead and did a single playtrough here on hard with no problems. the only level in which i had a particular problem was 8-5's mid checkpoint leaving you in a terribly bad spot.

Can't say whether it's intended or not to be this difficult, but I'm stuck on the same place on Hard using the beta branch. I'm assuming this isn't intended since the floor collapses before the boss gets anywhere near you, and I made it first try after switching to the standard branch.
