There won't be a steam version anytime soon, PS4 exclusive in the west and sega won't be at the pc gaming show this year.

The entire reason the game is getting rewritten/censored is due to pressure from places like Reset Era where misinformation is distributed to drum up hate mobs to attack people they don't like. It was claimed by such people that a new ending to the game made it seem as if Eric/Erica was happier pre-transition and was anti-trans. That couldn't be farther from the truth, and it even influenced one of the English voice actors to defend these bad actors. Going so far as giving additional pressure to Atlus USA to change things in the game to be more pro-trans.

Honestly at this point considering all the negativity in the west surrounding Japanese properties, it's better just to import these games. Production staff and voice actors in the west are getting more and more hostile with their core fanbases, plus the censorship coming from Sony and Steam.

Maybe this has been mentioned before but pretty sure it's just for business reasons. To maximise sales. Sony is pretty tight on their rules after all. It's just the way society is now days unfortunately.

Its impossible to say why the credits shouldn't have been changed due to spoiling some of the new content of the game. Lets just say that the people calling 'transphobia' are showing themselves to be homophobes by forcing it to be altered.
