Thanks everyone for the responses, I have decided to spend my money on other games and check back on this port next year.
I'm running what's approaching a 7 year old potato and it's no surprise that despite that, it's not having a problem playing this game. This is a fricking old game now. So maybe, this Christmas, you'll pick it up on the cheaper side.
FYI, here's the kinds of games I run on this old faithful, just to give you an idea where Catherine lies on the spectrum: Hollow Knight, Katana Zero, Guacamelee, Iconoclasts, Starcraft 2, Oxygen Not Included, Invisible Inc, and the like. Basically all Indie games, lol (minus starcraft, the game that released a decade ago, bite me, I do own a few old AAA titles, I think I'm allowed to indulge every once in a while).
Anyway, this game is great. I love puzzles. I love games with multiple endings. Best $13 I've spent in a while. And if you're anywhere near interested in this, continue to follow this thread so I'm not entirely wasting my time. I'll update you accordingly.
Update: Just beat the final boss's second stage. Game still ran smooth as butter. No stuttering to be found whatsoever.
