Just bought game starts with lvl 7

i just bought the game and it already started me with level 7. which doesnt seems correct to me.

Yup, something is definitely not right. I just purchased and installed the game, and it says I am Level 2, with the following stats:
Best Streak: 6 Hits
Best Score: 294
Best Accuracy: 56%
Games Played: 8
Game Won: 5
Total Medals Earned: 4
Total Missions Completed: 3
Total Hits: 121
Total Misses: 199
Total Ships Destroyed: 35
Most Played Commander: Johannes Schmidt

I like building up my own stats from scratch in games, so this is a bit disappointing and frustrating.

After going back and forth with Marmalade Technical Support (the company that programmed Battleship), I found out that the stats are stored in the Windows Registry. I installed the game on another computer and all was fine there. If I deleted the Battleship Registry Keys on my main computer it would repopulate them with the same stats as before, but if I exported the registry from my secondary computer and imported them into my main computer then all was fine.

As a side effect of how Marmalade stores stats, the stats are only tracked locally. Steam properly tracks your Steam Achievements across whatever computers you play on, but Battleship will not collect your game stats across computers you play on.
