You'd have to craft a Dye Station. You create dyes similar to how you make different meads only you don't have to wait for things to ferment. Here's how I think dyes could be made:
Red = 4 Raspberries
Blue = 4 Blueberries
Yellow = 4 Daisies
Green = 2 Guck
White = 4 Cloudberries
Black = 2 Coal
Purple = 2 raspberries + 2 blueberries
Orange = 2 raspberries + 2 daisies
(Maybe change the green formula from guck to 2 blueberries + 2 daisies?)
In addition to those colors you can create a lighter and darker shade by adding a cloudberry or coal respectively.
If they wanted to be a pain about it, they could make it that you have to create a dye base in the fermenter first. Ugh!!
Theoretically you create many different shades by allowing various combinations of the base ingredients. A created dye can be used 5 or 6 times, similar to how you get 6 mead items after fermenting. To apply there would be two slots in the Dyer, an item slot and a slot for the dye.
In addition, you can create paint by combining 1 dye with 1 tar. You would have to craft a Paintbrush. It would operate similar to a hammer only you'd have to select a paint as the secondary equipped item. Paint would stack in your inventory. Then you just "paint" the building pieces you want painted and viola!
I like it!
