Butcher Fish
Give the option to butcher fish outside the cauldron if there is a knife in your inventory

Utility use for knives? Why not. But I think it'd be little too narrow in scope to use just for that. There could probably be something else as well, like...

Slicing meat, so that the larger kinds (lox and so on) could be used for campfire prepared meat that is less effective (similar to the old cooked meat perhaps)
Cutting open oysters and maybe some other ocean-related resources
Carving and other woodwork, maybe gathering resin from evergreen trees and birch sap (it's edible)

i support this - my first thought:
why the heck do i need a cauldron to slice up fish? would be great to just give this option when one wields a knife

so, devs what do think of this?

You mean fillet a fish? Unheard of. Sounds like magic.

Or a catchy tune for a fast food joint

Most of the time you are going to be using the cauldron after you make the raw fish anyway arent you? I mean the only real point to this would be if the place you cook the fish is super far from the cauldron in the first place...
