Just give me tree seeds please.. what is the point of this stupid RNG.
I have a tree farm.. It is basically impossible to maintain other than the beech.. and I got lucky with oak procs started with 4 and have 6 now. Pine and Birch drop rates seem to be a lot lower. Just make it so we get 1 seed per tree like any other game in existence or a way to craft/grow them like we can with the other seeds.

I had 10.. 10 birch trees in my birch farm.. cut them all down and got ZERO seeds.. so now I have nothing to replant.. cool. Pretty dumb mechanic.

Tree farms are just not sustainable, as you're seen, but there are more than enough trees in the world to give you all the wood you want.

In the past I just had a portal that I used for wood that I would move around from time to time.

You can still have a tree farm, but you need to supplement it with seeds from other areas.

I understand it's not sustainable.. my grievance is that it should be lol.. Just give us 1 seed per tree.. why is this not a thing.

I wouldn't mind if tree seed drop rates got increased to at least be on par with both feathers & resin when cutting them down so they at least would be an option to take more frequently if one so desired. I know I'd be chucking the feathers or resin out & taking the seeds instead. I have tons of feathers & resin but seeds, not so much.

I think tree seeds are intended for growing trees as decor, rather than for mass producing wood.

As always, if you want all the seeds of all plants, there's probably a mod for that.

I've seen that issue only for Birch so far, and it is a tree you'd want to plant purely for aesthetics. Oaks, on the other hand, are go-to for farming Fine Wood, and seem to give up to 3 seeds from a fell tree, so unless you're fantastically unlucky, it is possible to cultivate dozens. Just make sure you space them charitably to avoid saplings from withering.

Are you saying thati was just extremely unlucky to not get a single seed from like 20 oaks?

That´s not how this works. Or are you maybe mixing up oak and birch here? But even birch doesn´t give seeds with every tree.

My guess is you play modded. In vanilla only the beech is giving out more seeds than you need for a tree farm.

Honestly would not be interesting without the RNG. The current system rewards exploration! You have to go out of your little bubble and look for resources.

And i thought i was just unlucky, because i remember times where i had more than enough seeds.
But yesterday as i tried to play again, i got nearly any seeds. Not even enough that it would count as Deco because my Base is big, and i deforested a whole Forest.

When this is normal i need another mod so i don't deforest the Whole map until my Base is ready, as much wood as we need for a tiny house. Thought the stones already where bad, as i need to leave big craters to get as much stone as i needed for past builds.

I agree. Wood nor fine wood is not exactly difficult to get , so allowing 1 seed pr cut down tree shouldn't really unbalance the game.

Or, let the elder buff GREATLY improve the chance to get seeds from cutting down trees. At least it would make that buff somewhat useful. Bonus: Less trash when not using the buff.

Whatever, i don't really care how, as long as i get the few tree seeds i need without cutting down entire forests.

I am not against the idea, but I second that seeds were really an afterthought after players asked with the primary ask being to replant after knocked down in a raid, for looks.

i dunno, one could end up with chests full 'o seeds
i mean i collect resin and end up with overflowing chests

Greydwarves give plenty of both. Build a fewgreydwarf farms. Look it up on youtube. It´s free wood, stone and eyes.

Fine wood? There is plenty of that in the plains. Definitly no need to plant it.

It´s not necessary at all to plant trees, it´s just a different playstyle. Not a must.

umm the FIRST time you find carrots, onions, turnips, flax and barley you NEVER have to go out "exploring" for them again and even havestable bushes you can mark on the map and visit the same ones every 3 days but all of a sudden it's too much to ask for each tree to have a seed? lol That is breaking the exploration of the game?

I'd love to see your chest full of birch seeds.. please show me..

I have been throwing away resin for eons.. it is 100x more plentiful than birch seeds which is what we are specifically talking about..

It's not really a "different" playstyle seeing how I can't actually play that way.. It appears I am pretty much forced to either comb the meadows or plains for fine wood. I'm well aware I can get a large amount of fine wood in plains IF I wanted to.. that's not the point of the post I want a tree farm, so I can play how I want.
