Feather Cape should be obtainable prior to Mistlands or within the first few hours.
By the time you get it you have either died 20 times or are on the brink of fighting the last boss and don't technically need it anymore. It comes FAR TOO LATE in the game.

Remove the armor and resistance to frost from it completely and add a stat that reduces the cost of jump stamina by 30%. Then this would be a perfect Mistlands item.

Should be a intro item that is crafted still at the forge.

Feather x20
Scale Hide x10
Black Metal x10

I like it. One of the big issues with Mistlands is getting around. And with the surprising difficulty of fighting things there with Plains-level gear and the additional difficulty of having to do most of the Mistlands before unlocking any new gear at all, changing how fast one can acquire the Feather Cape would help address some of the issues. The creatures are still too hard IMO and need some rebalancing to be easier to fight with melee and bow weapons, but that is another bit of balancing the Devs really need to do. Just having the Cape early on would be a good start.

Wolf FUR cape = 6 wolf pelt, 4 SILVER, 1 wolf trophy..

but alas I can see how my proposal is SO RIDICULOUS..

the materials were just a thought the idea of the cape is the point. But TY for your well thought out contribution.

Great Idea and 100% correct by the time you have it you barely need it. Rendering it near pointless in practical terms.

For those that dislike the black metal substituent say 40 Linen then from the plains tier instead. Lord knows there is precious little we need linen for as it is!

That's solving the symtom, not the problem. The problem is that it takes too long to unlock any upgrades. Make it easier to create the crafting tables and harder to create/upgrade the items, and most of the problems go away.

it should require at least obtaining refined eitr and a black forge to make. Otherwise you'd be pretty much skipping half the challenge of the entire biome immediately.

So you should need 10 black cores just to get the recipe? that could be.. anywhere from what 3-10 abandoned mines depending on RNG? thje most I have gotten from an abandoned mine is 7 and the least is 0.

That is the whole biome.. if you can find/live through 3 abandoned mines then you have seen the entire biome.. it's already over.. the rest of the time is spent just looking for more.

I'd be willing to meet you half way and say it should require the black forge. 5 Cores.. fine.. but it should be the FIRST thing that is unlocked in the zone.. like I already stated.. as it stands now it is the last and when you get it you have basically completed the area.. it's usefulness has long since past.
