ROOFS! need to be able to use stone or marble, maybe iron for some better looking roofs
and maybe flat and other angles.. seen some need builds but all are stuck with the crap looking angled roofs... just saying iron structure with stone floors between levels should count.. also maybe horizontal glass! Time for some quality of life updates now mistlands is out! Thanks!

I hear stone floors work.

all stone works as a roof. It takes a lot of support to get it across. About 20M (10 floor tiles across) can be done without a lot of weirdness to 3 levels or so using wood iron beams or similar structure. The new black marble pieces have slopes that you could do something pretty but it may require even more structure than just floor tiles.
The amount of rock here is excessive. It takes over 1000 units of marble to do a 10x10 room floor and roof and walls with 3M tall headspace.

We don't even have angled Stone floors or Walls unless you count the Stone Stairs.. or that weird Stone overhang piece. We need Stone pieces that are triangular, 26 degree and 45 degree Stone Slope, and round edges too like a Stone Beam or Pole wide and tall.

And yes i know there is a mod for that but most people don't do mods. We want it in the actual game.

Trying to do a large spanned roof area in stone is currently not possible.

Would be nice if there was some kind of stone + Iron "reinforced" roof items that could let you do a large span like when using wood but still keep the armor value of stone.

This is even more of an issue now that there are air born mobs that can apparently blow through stone defenses ease. Whats the point of marble walls if a mob can just come in through your roof?

Stone can be roof. A large roof can be done with ironwood beams supporting stone floor, if you want large internal spaces. A large roof can also be done without ironwood by using stone pillars and arch pieces - by turning the pillars 45 degrees with arch on all faces and taking advantage of floors ability to overhang approx one piece out without support usable amounts of space between pillars can be achieved.

What annoys me more is the terrible texture on stone pieces - you have a precision stone cutting workbench yet most pieces look like a sack of pebbles.

...but.....we have a ton of things for stone already, can't we have more designs for wood?

What do you call large? Stone / ironwood spans at least 20M effortlessly. Past that you need a bit more support, but you can push out to 30 or so with a little creativity. Past 30 going more than 2-3 floors is going to require additional measures beyond just ironwood beams.

Flying stuff... the new raids, you probably want to get out of the home and engage them someplace they can't destroy. gjall specifically can flatten a home if ignored for a while. They wipe out premade BM buildings that are already at 25% or less durability very quickly but a new building or repaired one takes them a few hits.
Seekers and broods don't do much damage, soldiers can't fly so can't get inside or near your home.
interestingly black marble is immune to drake breath.
