The speedy paths mod should be a part of the vanilla game.
https://www.nexusmods.com/valheim/mods/452 <- for those who want to check it out.

This mod is simple enough, wood, dirt, and stone all give the player a speed boost while walking on them. My friend and I have been playing with this mod since it came out, and honestly I'm not sure how this isn't a part of the main game. it gives a lot more purpose to having paths throughout your world, the only thing I can honestly see changing about this mod would be the exact speed at which you go while on a path.

What do you guys think?

Makes sense to have a very mild benefit to gameplay if creating manmade pathways. The visible track could be said to make it faster since you can easily see the path therefore increasing speed by the fact you know where your going and not wasting time accidentally going off course

There is the benefit of pulling the cart more efficiently, so there's that already. Would I mind a slight bonus to running on paved roads..? Not really, but I don't miss it either. It could be fun to see three trolls racing toward you on your paved road though.

yeah, i think this would help emphasize road-building, which is definitely part of cart usage but otherwise has no purpose.

making causeways could be a bigger part of the game, for sure.

+1 if giving a moderate speed improving, like +10%.

This feature seems also to have been requested some times already. Definitely a nice to have.

I believe the dirt paths offer an intrinsic bonus in that the way is marked, obstacles cleared, and sometimes moderate grading/leveling applied.

However, I would like to see a movement bonus dependent upon the surface, say +5% for wood, +10% for stone (including paved).

plus 5 and 10% seems a bit much. Compare that to fenris armour y'know. Was thinking somewhere between 0.5% and 2% maybe.
