But i would change it and would put "wet" immunity in the helmet, just like the root armor helmet grants poison immunity.
For chitin I wouldn't mind using them for arrow heads, a new spear, Armour/helmet parts or even a new drinking horn or new tankard type? we can make with Chitin & resin or something. Maybe even small adornments for building or something.
2 more that could do with a lot more uses is Ancient Bark & Obsidian.
to add to this - the chitin fist weapon should be equippable in the water so that you can punch with it. you can already punch in the water, but this basically does no damage. making the chitin fists work in the water would be an interesting new element, since now you can fight in the water in melee, like serpents or enemies that tend to come in and out of the water, like skeletons or grey dwarfs.
