So unless they say otherwise, this is a design decision.

Guess I'll have to go give this mod a try. Thanks!
As a disclaimer, I've not tried this in Mistlands. It works well everywhere else; vertical aiming works as you would expect. This is a problem with a lot of game engines. The good news is that the mod requires no additional configuration and it does not need to be updated constantly.
wut?
Every time I start a new game, I tell myself I'm going to use a different weapon, but I always end up going back to the spear eventually due to its versatility.
I hate leveling up daggers just to find out that they're practically useless once I get into the swamp
I suck at parrying. If I fail once against a Draugr, well, if I don't have like 85 health, I am screwed.
It basically forces you to start using swords and bow after Black Forest.
Also, this kind of issue is frustrating as well when you want to cut wood but you're swinging your axe above the log at your feet. The game should know what you would like to do, and it should just then default to a chopping straight down movement. Would also save on stamina since you're aided by gravity on the swing down, so stamina drain should slow downward, and speed up drawing back
Lotta things they're not done implementing into the game. Some of this stuff will likely be incrementally implemented since they'll have to test each update for bugs, and this would be a big update.
Edit: Making enemies not take reduced damage when hitting objects would be cool as well, as it's hard to hit the new bug enemies without hitting the walls of cliffs.
TLDR: Please make it easier to hit things when they are either higher or lower than you.
I know there is a mod for that, anybody have tested it?
I'm interested in that mod too. If someone knows it, please tell us.
With the introduction of highly-vertical combat with Mistlands this is pretty much inexcusable. If I want to hit a Tick for example, it's quite difficult to make sure I'm at the exact perfect elevation to melee strike them when in reality all my character would have to do is swing low or high. It's a real pain.
I'm sure this has been suggested before but recently I feel it's necessary to reiterate.
Personally I think I'd prefer hitbox adjustments instead.
