You need to turn off one of the settings that shows grass( can't recall the name ), it is a major game changer when playing a no-mod, makes seeing them super easy. Along with twigs, and stones.
As stated above, turn the foilage to minimum.
It used to look very ugly (basically a simple green mesh) but nowdays it doesnt look bad and still gives you a ton of visuality.
You just mark every cluster you found on a map with a single mark, give a name, bamm, done.
I use dots as mark and RB, BB, Shroom as tags, easy to do, easy to read.
Also mushrooms arent that rare and you can find huge clusters in the black forest as well.
Since now you need the blueberries for the speed pot, you can (and probably should) mark them on your map in both biomes, which would give you as much as you want.
Not to mention that with the latest Bogwitch update, picking up shrooms and berries is considered farming, so you can level your skill up superfast (and buy the hildir set for another +25 farming) which gives you a very noticable chance for yielding extra when picking them up.
On my current run, the trader spawned in a very large black forest (while the starting island had really ♥♥♥♥♥ forest), marked a butload of berries.
A 10 minute run around is yielding around 120 blue berries. 30-40 shrooms (wasnt looking for them that much) and 50-60 thistle and havent explored half of the forest still properly.
I am going to have to pass more mushrooms, don't need them once i get to black forest, nor do i have room for them by that time. with deer/boar meat, R/B Berries, Honey, mushrooms kind of start to lose their value.
I use mods to plant everything and I still am fond of exploration.
Yup, i don't think mushrooms/berries, are the only reason to explore, and if it is the only reason for some, then well, i politely disagree with them, plenty of reasons to explore an area, Landscapes, uncover the map, scouting for a nice location(s), just to do it, but to just forage? I can't see that being the main reason.
You'll need a lot of them after you reach the mountains. Make a storage shed!
Would be nice to creat a chest to craft from it !
