Cauldron should be "craftable" instead of "buildable"
This is just an idea which I think would work in this game. So the cauldron is a buildable block used for cooking which requires a forge each time you place it over the fire.

But I think bringing a cauldron for "camping" in the early game would be a fun experience assuming you don't plan to bring teleportation material or lack surtling cores for that extra portal. It makes sense to be able to just craft it like with shields or other gears, and perhaps smelt it back to tin if one truly needs more tin.

I mean, the fact that we have new food and cauldron recipes for early game in H&H update made it fun for me, so I think this idea complements that update.

I'm not sure if this is a good idea, but in my mind it works at least. Lol.

I don't know if this is a silly idea but I think some items you should have a choice if you want to permanently commit the resources to them so you can't deconstruct it BUT you can pick it up and place it somewhere else from your inventory. So then you could go through a portal with the already built item and set it up. Does that make sense?

I think we're in the same picture. Yes it makes sense and that's what I want to happen with the cauldron. It's just a thought though 😁kinda silly when you need a forge each time you want to put a pot over the fire.

i agree here
everytime i need to relocate the pot i have a bit of a strange feeling when i need to demolish the pot - get a forge - rebuild the pot on the new location
often thinking.... its just a pot, grab dat thing and put it there would make more sense

so i +1 this
would be more fluid gameplay wise
if one can relocate the pot without the need to place a forge nearby

like. player uses the hammer on the pot to "fold it up" or stash it away
this would prevent the player from taking that pot away by missklicking

Yes! Seems you also get it. I also do have that same "strange feeling" whenever I want to casually relocate a cooking cauldron. Being able to put it down with just a hammer without a forge would not only be convenient, but also feel natural.. 😁👌🏻

I hope out tiny voices get heard. Who knows if the devs would like this idea too.

they've made it so that cauldron is following the same route as forge and workbench. so portability doesn't really fit there (in a worst case you can just take 10 tin(and 6 copper for a forge) with you can "pretend" that it's a cauldron in your bag).
though i have a feeling that the whole nomadic playstyle kinda dies out after reaching iron tier. too many things to do which ties you to 1 place. smelting ores. raising flax and etc.

I agree with the nomadic playstyle dying out in the late game, but prior to that I think it's much more satisfying to be able to carry around a cauldron instead of 10 tin and 6 copper during your expeditions. (yeah this is just an opinion)

For me, a portable cauldron which you can put down with a hammer fits the early game more than requiring a forge each time you want to put it down a fire. But again, it's just my opinion. There could be some problems which I've overlooked 🤔

you will still need to build a workbench though. and have a slot filled with cauldron. not that different than having 10 tim imho. but whatever. i'm up for any additions to the game that'll make certain stage of the game interesting. even if i'll never use them myself
