Elegant Solution To Trophy Clutter
So, in its current state, it's very easy to get trophies that fill up your inventory. I have a solution which I believe will help to reduce clutter and keep trophies as a nice decoration option. Similar ideas have been suggested, but I think I can express my thoughts a bit more coherently than others have:

I think it would be good to add the option to craft stacks of trophies together. As you craft them together, you get one-star, then two-star trophies. So if you craft a stack of 20 trophies, you get a single one-star trophy. Crafting together a stack of 20 one-star trophies (400 regular trophies) nets you a two-star trophy.

Not only would this reduce the number of storage spaces taken up by trophies, it would also give us more options for decorating. You would essentially never need more than three item slots for any particular mob trophy. A stack of normal trophies, one-star, and two star trophies combined would be a total of 8420 trophies! As far as I know, nobody has THAT many yet!

Given time and resources, you could maybe take this one step further and give trophies a practical purpose: maybe they act as a ward against the creatures which they represent, with higher trophies having a greater radius? Or maybe they confer a damage buff against that creature when you rest within range of one, with higher trophies lasting longer or giving a greater buff? There's a lot of potential there.

In the end, here's why I think this solution should be implemented:
!) It solves a problem that a lot of people are having and are actively complaining about
2) It draws upon elements which are already in the game, making it both easier to achieve and consistent with the dev's vision.
3) It offers player more personal expression.

Yes please!
i really like this idea. its pretty much the terraria banner thing combined with another thing to grind for and the clutter solution. although i cant imagine getting 400 sea serpent trophies i think killing the star equivalent of an enemy should drop that stars trophy with a very low chance for a 2 star trophy from 2 star enemies.
I like the idea. But not as much as my method of treating them like car batteries.

I like the idea.

But maybe we can also have armor that lets us decorate it with trophies? Like wearing the skulls of our enemies? (more skulls for the skull throne!) I would very much like a giant troll head on top of my head.

It's not a bad idea but taking up three slots is still more than taking up one, I feel the best solution is to increase the stack size while in a container, while limiting the stack size in the players inventory.

I support this! Good idea buddy!

Well, it's better than taking up 5 or 6 before you start just throwing them away.

Larger stacks would be nice, but I assume there's a reason why the devs intentionally stacked them to 20 when everything else is stacked to 50. either there's some mechanical explanation, or they just want us to have smaller stacks for some artistic reason (which I can't fault them for, their vision for this game is clearly really strong).
