Piles for other things... like coal, fine wood and core wood

Would be nice .. save room and add ambiance and balance to the look. Maybe, it could be necessary to build a shed with a roof and dirt ground for coal and fine woods so that it is not destroyed by rain.. if you leave in open it could reduce the stash size over each rainfall.

I am pretty sure that the stone and log piles do not actually save space. Take an entire inventory of wood and place them in log piles in a neat line and even stack them up three or four times if you would like. Then take another entire inventory of wood and place them in as many reinforced chests as it takes to store them all. Now tell me, which takes up more space? I agree that they could be used for decoration though.
