AFAIK crossplay works even without portforwarding and XBOX requires crossplay.
No idea how to get crossplay working on your end.
Just tried it myself for the first time and after unblocking the crossplay/playfab IP-Ranges in my firewall I could connect to my dedicated server (but not via its LAN IP, only external or join code).
What do the logs say when you try to connect?
Then compare Player.log vs. PLayer-prev.log and maybe post your diff (in a

block please!).
This part seems to be the difference when starting a game offline vs online.
I also get these suspicious looking texts on both logs, but on offline it is displayed after saving and exiting world.
Those "Fallback handler could not load library ...." lines are normal.
Your error message gets a few search results[duckduckgo.com]...
The only other Ideas I have are unlikely, complicated or just shots in the dark:
It looks like Steam doesn't install VC Redist 2015-2022 with Valheim. Valheim uses Playfab to do crossplay which requires it.
Download the installers here, and godspeed.
