Can't stay connected to friend - Trees/rocks won't load in

I am able to initially get into a friend's server, but it won't stay connected. Keeps disconnecting soon after joining.
Also when I load in, none of the foliage loads in - no rocks or trees appear. I just see essentially vast grasslands where the trees and rocks should be. However, all this will load into my own server.
Wondering if anyone has had this issue? And if so, did you find a fix?

I'm having the same problem, multiplayer only. Hoping to find an answer soon.
Edit: my friend has a network optimizer tool app installed on his computer. He disabled it and boom, flawless play.

happens when someone is lagging on the server, how it work is the "host" is only hosting the "World" file, but every player keeps the server alive in a way, so if someone has bad connection/ping/dropping packets/etc everyone gets punished for it, doors might not open/close, chests might not open, mobs might not move.. etc

Been having this problem for two days, following this thread and if I find a solution, I'll post it here. All of my mates connect to the server just fine so it's an issue on my end if anything.

Additionally, I try to connect to my mate's server using Steam Server Search (Steam->View->Servers) and then launch from there. In the table at the bottom, it says "Server is not responding." I can still connect anyway, type the passwords in and load the world but then I encounter the error you were talking about. I get a flashing connection error symbol in the top left. After about a minute or two, I get disconnected. I've changed my DNS settings and turned off my firewall.

yes i have same problem.i just can`t play with that friend but play with other friends can normal play,just that guy!

Also having this issue. The game is fun, so i just continually log back into my brothers world- but the disconnecting every 10-15minutes is EXTREMELY annoying. Hope theres a fix, soon!

Answer found: my friend has a network optimization tool app on his computer and it needs to be disabled. Not sure why it works but it works.

Found a fix for this issue on user end, using a VPN works. Not sure why, wasn't able to diagnose it but it's a quick hotfix for now.
