My corpse disappeared

I died in mountains (killed by a pack of wolfs) and after respawning and returning the to marked location on the map, the body/corpse was nowhere to be found. It just disappeared. I invested a lot of time in this game and now, afrter I was able to finally get an iron gear and move to the mountains to mine silver, all my gear just disappears???
I tried to dig for it, thinking it's just some kind of bug and the tombstone just sank into the ground. But I didn't find it.
Now I would just like to know, hof often can this occur and if it's worth sinking so much time into the game if it's able to erase all the progress you might have made for the past few weeks in a blink of an eye.

The server crashed after I died, so maybe that has something to do with it. But that doesn't help me to recover my gear that I worked so hard for, so honestly, I don't really care what's the reason behind it. All I care for is that past few weeks of sleepless nights and gaming weekends were for nothing.

oof mate, i am thankful to say that in 125(ish) hours i have yet to have this happen to me and i can't say i've seen a whole lot of people in these discussion forums outside of the odd few. So i can *kind of* confidently say this isn't a regular thing, just the nature of Alpha games unfortunately.

At this point friend, i strongly recommend using console commands to return your lost gear and there are heaps of instructions on how to do this via Google. Keep in mind though, you will have to spawn in items of different types separately as there is no "cure all" command to recover a corpse as far as i know (though i think there should be)

As far as i am concerned, it aint cheating in a game if you lost everything over a bug. there is absolutely zero shame in it and it would be an actual shame to lose a fellow vikang over such trivial things.
