According to people in other threads, the problem is with the default Mesa Vulkan drivers for AMD cards (RADV). Installing the AMD proprietary driver (AMDVLK) and setting up Valheim (and other Unity-based games) to use that instead fixed their crash issues.
Intel issue for your laptop may be similar, I couldn't say.
For reference
When **one game** does not work where dozens of others do, the problem is in the **one game** that fails.
Using:
Gentoo 6.12.11, Gnome 46 on Wayland
Ryzen 5800X + RX 6700XT, Mesa 24.3.3 (RADV)
In case it helps someone, or maybe this is a just me thing:
My workaround is to launch the game in OpenGL mode, let it go through the loading screens and crash. Do this repeatedly, and it will work on the 4th attempt fairly consistently.
Then everything runs without issues. Weird. Same behavior on my Intel laptop.
That ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ works!
