Day 1 after update to dedicated server.
Actually, it should be day 720. But after the update is day 1 and I have absolutely nothing on my own dedicated server. Is it possible to undo this?

What happens is the dedicated server tries to load your world default from worlds_local folder, instead of the old worlds folder. Which ends up not finding your old world of course. So it creates a new world.db and world.fwl file and stores those in worlds_local.

To load your old saves:
1. Shut down dedicated server
2. Go to C:\Users\ <username> \AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim\worlds find the world.db and world.fwl file that you want.
3. Move them to C:\Users\ <username> \AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim\worlds_local folder
4. Start the server

Sorry for the inconvenience, devs are working on it.

Thanks for the quick reply.

The dedicated server runs on a Linux server.
Apparently the game does not load the world from the server.

Does this mean I have to wait for a bug fix first?

Hello,
We are having problems finding the game. In our case my friend has everything in the server, nothing changed, but I don't see the server and I can't join it.

We did the steps above and we had the same result. Could this be about the update too?
Thanks!

You can still move the YOURWORLD.db and .fwl from the "worlds" folder on your server to the "worlds_local" folder in the same directoy, Linux or Windows.

Please make sure to make a backup first.

Unfortunately, this does not work.
I have fetched the world from yesterday's backup from the server locally to the computer.
But it just starts from the cloud. Why can not just turn off this cloud???
Especially with own dedicated server this would be very desirable.

A patch just got released which fixes the world load issue introduced in 0.209.8, causing dedicated servers to fail to load worlds saved in the now legacy “worlds/” directory (and instead creating a new empty world).

Unfortunately, if you already got a world-reset caused by this, try removing the broken world from "worlds_local/" (but don’t touch “worlds/” ). This will make the server load the original working world from “worlds/” instead.

If you do put the files in the world_local folder, the server should use those. You just need to make sure they have the EXACT same name. Otherwise the server will not use them.

Edit: Or what @Munin just wrote.

Do you have to run a Steam update on the dedicated server again?

I have no world_local folder on my dedicated server ?!?

It it auto-updated before, it will do so again. I would restart the server though, just to be sure.
