Valheim

Rented server no admin commands
Good morning,

I bought the game a few days ago and installed it on the server I'm renting.

I find the game really enjoyable (except the combat and the navigation which need to be improved as well as the stability of the fps, negative points as far as I'm concerned but the rest is really good).

I notice that there are no administrator commands developed like on other games that I have installed before.

I would like to change the length of the cycle of days and nights, change the durability of tools and certain items, change the consumption speed of thirst, hunger, etc. ..... .

As I always did on the server to personalize the gameplay.

But with this game it's impossible, the server traffic dropped in a few because of this
The players ask me to adjust, for example, the quantity of materials for construction which requires too many resources but I explain to them that I cannot.

Concerning the players stuck in the scenery which occurs from time to time, again impossible to make them respawn a few meters away in order to free them.

Do the devs plan to open up admin controls for rental servers so admins can customize them and use player support controls ?

Thx.

The game only comes with basic admin options. Advance admin options can be done through mods, but I do not know which ones. However, IronGate has stated in the recent past, that advance admin controls will be something they will look into. I do not know when.

As for the variables of the game, I suggest saving the game from the server, shut it down, then import the world save over to your local computer. From the Start Game, World Selection screen, click the World Modifiers button. You can change a few things like Death Penalty, Resource Rates, and Combat difficulty.

Thanks for the info, I hope they do that 😊 👍

I don't understand everything but I'm going to do a test hoping not to break all the players' progressions 🤔 😂

Have you looked into enabling vanilla world modifiers, like increased resource rate? You can tweak them for server as an admin. Check the dedicated server manual that should be in the dedicated server installation folder.
I rent a server via the company NITRADO

I can't figure out how to import and read the backup.fwl from the server and how to place it if it's the right place, I hope I'm not wrong

C:\Users\MASH\AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim

To be placed in the world subfolder or the serverlist_local subfolder ??

I'm a little lost in all these files

On ARK or SCUM it was simpler, you simply had to configure the game in the NITRADO interface or in the server.ini file on the computer

Nitrado should allow your to grant yourself admin privilege's. You would have to add your "Steam_IDnumber" or "Xbox_IDnumber" to that list. That ID can be seen when you are playing on the server and you press F2 or LT+LB+select button (controller). When ID is added, the server is restarted, before you launch Valheim on PC, you have to enable the console console[i.imgur.com] (not needed for Xbox). When you are playing on the server, press F5 or LT+LB+start (controller) to summon the console. There type devcommands to toggle devcommands on the server. Server will now accept world modifiers. You can refer to this guide[drive.google.com] on which ones to use. I would recommend experimenting with world modifiers first in the single player offline world until you know what they do.

I placed my STEAM ID in the Adminlist.txt file
I did F5 after restarting the server to type commands devcommands

The only thing that is available is the HELP command concerning the management of player bans or unbans.

I would like to be able to modify the speed of time, the days pass too quickly, shorten the nights, reduce the quantity of materials necessary for construction, allow a less penalizing death, unblock a player stuck in the scenery, etc. ...
This is what the players ask me

I saw the DEBUGMODE command on a wiki but it only applies to solo players

Thanks for your help and sorry for the inconvenience, but we are going to change games, we are going to vote on which game we will install on the server
We will wait for the devs to implement a real admin command to return to Valheim, hoping that they do so

thx :friendinneed:
General commands in the console are fairly limited, yes. To access the advanced commands, you have to issue:

devcommands

in the console. This toggles access to advanced commands on/off and, since you have yourself in the admin list, you should see a larger list of available options when you issue HELP. If not, you may have to install the Server Devcommands[valheim.thunderstore.io] mod. Whether you'll need it on both server and client or just client depends on what options you need to make use of.
