Game keeps crashing

game keeps crashing when i try to start a multiplayer world game starts fine but when i hit start game it gets stuck on the loading screen then immediately crashes i dont know how to fix this i uninstalled and reinstalled same issue i even verified game files on steam and i still have this issue

I've had random full crashes (booted out of game world, usually lose the last hour of data/exploration) for the last month or so. No warning, doesn't matter if it's my world or a friend's world. happens on every character I have.

-No mods
-upgraded drivers (solved the visual glitches, but no improvement for this)
-verified all files via Steam
-restarted computer, cleaned out recycle bin, plenty of room on drive

I'd say about every 6 hours of gameplay or so (best/vague guesstimate)

Is the game actually crashing or does Windows just bring up a window that says it's not responding? These are two different things.

Lately first: Screen freezes for a second, then goes totally black. Then I get a weird message from windows with a Valheim sigl with an exclamation point and something saying that "windows is checking" or something like that. it's not the "not responding" message which starts with a sort of "greyed out" screen.

Ahhh!

Maybe that's it - I do have Citrix on this computer (have to since I work from home) and definitely have sometimes been running it to work from home alongside playing. Guess those too may not be playing nice.
