Valheim "failed to connect" on a non-dedicated server

On server a friend and I started playing on two days ago, my friend made the server, he and I were playing for a couple hours just fine no problems. The next day it kept saying "failed to connect", after a couple tries I finally got in but with large lag spikes then eventually my game just crashed and haven't been able to connect since. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, verified game files, ran it as administrator, disabled Ipv6, and allowed it through the antivirus and firewall. My friend plays just fine with no issues, it shouldn't be a network issue because we play in the same room with Ethernet connection. So I have no idea what the issue could be.

Same here. A few days ago all was fine, but today met the same error with failed to connect to my friend`s server. Looks like the main cause of this is somewhere in the Valheim cloud save system or cloud server if there is one...

Connection issues are unrelated to saving system. if your friend is also on Steam, tell them to not host their world with crossplay option enabled (option is located next to start server button). Remove their server your favorites tab, tell them to invite you via friend invite, and then connect to the server from fiends tab.
