Game bugged out and was able to fix it I think

I was playing and randomly the game just hung up or froze, it was hard to tell but while it was doing it the screen went black and then all that was showing up was a solid color of white then red then like brown with black side bars.

Ok cool so game crashed.

Relaunched and now the game wouldn't load correct. Once again just solid color white > white > red > brown with black side bars but there was game music.

I basically just put -screen-height 1080 -screen-width 1920 into the valheim steam properties and now the game loads fine but the UI was weird so I had to re scale it.

I'd love to know what in the hell happened. I've never seen a game react like that. Even after deleting the entire folder and verifying it didn't fix what the above link did. Same with uninstalling and reinstalling the game. Think I also tried turning the pc off and on.

This seems like a glaring serious bug, if I wouldn't have found that post online my game would have been perma bricked. Is there a place in my folders a error log got dumped? Or a option I need to turn on some where for them to start dumping?

honestly thank you so much, my game did the same thing, I think all I saw was the colour of the centre pixel lol. For me it all started when I was changing my volume and pressed accept on the settings, it looks like it set all my settings back to default, I assume this glitch set the res to "0 0" as a default
