Valheim crashing on world load

Hi yall,

Since the update my game has been getting stuck on the black loading screen and then crashing every single time I try to load a world. It happens both with old saves, and with new ones made after the update. Has it been happening to anyone else? Is there a fix? I have no mods installed and was playing up to the day before the update.

Same problem here. Can't load new or old worlds since mistlands update, crashes within 2-3 seconds after hitting start.
Have always been running the game without mods.
Deleted all game files including manually deleting local save files and settings under AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim and reinstalled everything.
Updated my graphics drivers.
Tried lowering all graphics settings and disabling all effects.
None of the above helped.

Exactly the same problem for me crash 2s after hitting Start button. And i made the same attempt has you with no result.

try alt tab as soon as the loading screen comes up and wait there for the game load in

If you didn't use mods, just wait even if it says not responding and it will eventually load. Depending on your hardware it may take quite a while, 5-10 minutes to load. Then once you save again it will work normally next time you load the world.

Waiting a "long" time worked for me, thank you.
Even timed it, because of nerd... Took 1 min 35 sec.

Honestly I'm a bit ashamed by this. I grew up with a Commodore C64 and loading a game on that thing, well... patience was a virtue. Makes me realize I've become impatient in a way I really should not be.
Probably time to unpack the old C64 again. I have to learn patience, It's a good thing :-)

This might be the solution, although it states black screen when launching - I'm not sure if it refers to starting the game vs loading a world.
I haven't had the time to try it out, but if any of you want to give it a shot and comment under here, feel free!

Some good suggestions in this thread. Simply waiting solved it for me, so could be a bug with the intro scene when starting a new world.

Yes, I had doubts cuz I just built new pc so I was cofused, but yeah , it was just few more dozens of seconds, just wait. Make a coffee :D
