Wrong password

I see other people had some similar issues, but not lately.
I want to play beta testing with friends on my own server. Since online servers do not work with beta testing I am currently trying to make the dedicated server tool on steam for Valheim to work.
I make sure both the game and server has the beta set.
I start the server and get join code and IP.
I enter this server, but when I type in the password I get kicked out.
Server log says "Tried to enter with the wrong code".
Tried 5 times to make sure I wasn't misclicking or temprary bug.
Also restarted server with new code to no avail.

Anyone able to help or point me in direction of a solution/answer?

I am not sure if this will help you at all, but when we played (2 players) on a non-dedicated server yesterday my friend was not able to join the server until i disabled the "Crossplay" checkbox in the ingame server menu. As i said, i dont know if this may help you or not - and i also dont know if there is any possibility to disable the "Crossplay" option on a dedicated server. Good luck ;)

My issue is with entering the server. I make the server and get the code, but I cannot enter my own server with the code. I get "Wrong Password" for some reason. (I enter the right password).

Now i am a little bit confused. Is it necessary to use the "Join Code" to enter the server? What about a "normal" server password? Did they remove the option to set a normal password for servers and/or is using a "Join Code" the only option left to enter a (dedicated) server? (As i said in my first post: my knowledge of dedicated Valheim servers is very limited - i did not set up one since Summer 2021 or so.)

It seems to me it is necessary.

I use the Valheim Dedicated Server tool here on steam (do you know it or see it?) to be able to play the current beta testing.
When I start this, you see a cmd window that gives the IP and the "join code".
Even the tool it self has sometimes struggle to start its own game, so it had to remake a join code.

However, when the tool has setup the server, you can locate it in game and join. There you automatically requires to enter password. I use the join code, and the Valheim server cmd window writes that the user (me) has tried to enter with wrong password / join code,

The Join Code is only for XBox GamePass players, who'll need it to authenticate the connection through Microsoft's tunnel. If you're playing through Steam, then you enter the normal password you assigned the Server when setting it up.

I just wanted to report back and honestly say that i dont think i'm able to "help" you any further, sorry.
But...
I dont know if you have seen or read it, but there is a "Valheim Dedicated Server Manual.pdf" in the Steam Valheim Dedicated Server directory. It gives information about how to setup the parameters in the "start_headless_server.bat" file , including the server password - i used that file to setup my server back in Summer 2021.
Apropos passwords: the default server password in "start_headless_server.bat" is "secret" :)

Thanks a lot to both of you.
I did not realize the join code was xbox related (I don't have xbox, only the real console )
I was able to find a google guide on this matter.
Long story short: I had to edit batch file to make own server name and password. Was 5min read + 5 min work. This fixed this issue!
