- Are you hosting other games at the same time?
- Does your brother share the same internet connection as you?
- What are the specs of your internet connection?
- What is the brand and model of the router/modem your server is connected to?
- What and how many other apps are you using at the same time, when you host Valheim? Eg: Netflix, Prime, Disney, etc.
- What are some of the things you've tried to do to resolve this issue?
1. I'm using a server hosting website (1gserverhost.com) for my server, so I don't know all the details, but I do know that my server has 4 gigabytes of memory.
2. Valheim is the only game I'm using my server to host.
3. My brother does share my same internet connection.
4. I don't know if this is what you meant by the specs of my internet connection, but I used speedtest.net to test it and for ping I had 22, for download I had 244.7 Mbps, and for upload I had 249.81 Mbps.
5. I don't think there is a way I can get info on what router or modem the company uses for their servers
6. When I'm playing Valheim, I usually just have Discord, Steam, and Opera GX open.
7. So far I've tried editing the assembly_valheim.dll that my server uses using a tutorial, and it didn't do anything. Pretty much all fixes I've tried looking up are very very similar if not the same fix in the tutorial. I also used a free trial server from another company to see if the problem occurred there too, and it did. (link to that tutorial here )
Hopefully that answers your questions, sorry if I misunderstood something you asked or missed something obvious, I'm not the best when it comes to technical stuff.
Is your brother's server using the same hardware specs as yours? Meaning, he is also using 1gserverhost.com?
My brother's server used 4netplayers.com for hosting. I am not using that website due to the fact that I had a Terraria server on there once, and all progress was randomly wiped, same with backups. Also, after my brother started a new world on his Valheim server, every time he would restart his server, that current world would be deleted. That kept happening for a month or two, but not anymore. That's why I am not using that website just so you know.
Since you have a good internet connection, I was going to alternatively suggest you try hosting a dedicated server at home, if you're playing with up to 3-4 other people. The only issue with this, is whether your Internet Service Provider (ISP) permits port forwarding. In Canada, Telus and Shaw allows this, but Bell requires an add-on to their service plans.
To clarify, I host two Valheim games at home for 4-10 players on one, 1-3 players on the other, and a V Rising game for 2 all at the same time. I do it on a mini-PC with 8GB DDR4 RAM, 240GB SSD, Intel Celeron J4125 4 Cores CPU, on-board graphics, through a 150Mb up 150Mb down fibre connection.
What do you think? There is no monthly cost and you can use almost any kind of old company. Only thing is you need to be a bit tech savvy. My wife created a guide for this exact thing. Give it a peek and see if it's too much.

Regardless, can you paste the link of the guide you used that said to edit the assembly_valheim.dll file?
