Client side mods not working?
I'm hoping this is a super easy fix but me and my fiance are trying to play Valheim with some Quality of Life mods, specifically client sided ones so we don't need to host or rent any dedicated servers.

We both used Vortex to install BepInEx and the mods we want like Better Archey, Craft from Containers and some other things. All of them are working fine for me. Her game however is still vanilla entirely.

There are no errors, her game doesn't crash, it plays like normal, she just doesn't have any of the mods in-game. They're all enabled in her Vortex mod manager, she's tried running it from Steam and from Vortex (not sure if that even matters), she's tried playing in her own solo world.

I'm at a loss and I've tried googling it but nobody seems to be having this issue.

I am assuming Vortex works like Thunderstore Mod Manager. If the mods are installed independently into the mod manager via Bepinex, instead of directly into the core Valheim game folder, that means the mod manager will need to be loaded to run the mods. Specifically, in TMM, there are two buttons to run Valheim: Start Modded and Start Vanilla. I don't know if Vortex is like that, but of course, if it is, then she'll need to run Valheim by clicking the equivalent to Start Modded.

Perhaps she can switch over the Thunderstore instead of Vortex?

ThunderStore for me is the go-to mod manager. It allows you to search the store for mods, it downloads, installs and updates them for you, it allows to individually dis-, enable them and it keeps profiles of your games.

Highly recommendable. And yes, you need to start the modded game through ThunderStore, which can come very handy.

We ended up figuring out, Vortex apparently has a "deploy mods" feature or something, I never had to do that on my end, but apparently she did. After doing that, everything started working correctly.

Sounds like ThunderStore might be a better alternative so we'll likely end up switching to that instead, thanks for the replies!
