World Save File Location
I am trying to locate the world save files for Valheim, but all my google searching has only led to one location (appdata\locallow\...), there is no locallow folder in my appdata. I am on a new pc so that might have something to do with it.
My pc has two drives, C and D. C drive has my OS, some other programs, and steam. D drive is the one with my steamlibrary files for Valheim.
I have tried showing hidden folders and searching around but this locallow folder still seems not to exist.

Thanks for your help!

the devs moved the files around the H&H update so there is a bit of confusion as to where everything is,

try checking

C:/users/<yourusername>/AppData/LocalLow/IronGate/Valheim/

there should be two folders under that, worlds and characters.

one thing of note, I use Linux so the slashs are going to be reversed on a Windows system and I'n not 100% sure thats where you'll find the files on a Windows system but hopefully its a start.

good luck

the easiest way to access the world and character save folder is to start the game, then at the menu screen locate the player log button at the bottom left, clicking this will open the folder with the saves.

Yep, I can conform that in windows your saves are located in
C:\Users\<yourusername>\AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim\

P.S. If you click on the magnifying glass in the bottom left (on windows 10) and type %locallow% and press enter an explorer window should open at that location.

<edited for the P.S.>
Good Luck!

Thanks for all your helpful replies! Turns out I was just dumb and didn't go to my user, instead i went to "default" in appdata.

I had the exact same issue: I played this game in 2021, and again in 2023. My 2021 world (and character) was in the aforementioned folder but the 2023 world was not. Turns out it was in

C:\Jeux\Steam\userdata\my-user-id\892970\remote\worlds

To find it ran a search of the world name on my whole computer

Ugh. I've a firm hatred for storing important data in a C partition folder like that. I found mine under the "Program Files(x86)\Steam\...." area.
I can't think of a worse place to store data. That tree is for program files. The things you can toast at will by a reinstallation and not worry about losing any of your data. It's supposed to be a privileged area, secured from modification as much as possible, because it stores, you know, _program files_...

Documents would be a better bet, if you're going to store data (something like Documents\Steam\UserData\..."). I store those on a separate partition for exactly that reason (I can toast my C partition for a windows reinstall and not lose any data).

For anybody looking for THE answer:
Look up in The C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\"your steam ID"\" your game file number of valheim"\remote\worlds

There you will find it. It's a bunch of folders with numbered folders in it. Just look for it until you find it

Those are in C:\Users\%your user id%\AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim\worlds and
C:\Users\%your user id%\AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim\characters
