번역 관련 문제 보고
-run multiple instance of game on the same PC (like game + dedicated)
-run multiple steam account on the same PC
-change PC often
-have internet stability problems
-your save size exceeds limits of steam cloud
devs configured steam cloud weirdly and when sync problem happens...
it doesn't ask "you want to use saves in the cloud from X hours ago or use current saves on PC?"
devs enforce the rollback to X hours ago, while normal games would ask which one you prefer
characters are on player side so it's not related to the server itself
can the bugged guys save on singleplayer? or nope?
if it's character who isn't saved then it's client-side problem, and exceeding steam cloud limit is actually good reason to not save in such case
anywya F5->save works on dedicated server,
it saves the dedicated server world,
you have to be admin to use it tho
What is not happening is when the players are on a server they're player files are not being save properly on their clients so when they log off, they're characters are rolled back randomly. this has been reported numerous times. read the forums and bug reports.
F5 & save on a dedicated server is useless if it isn't also saving the players information. They can log off, and their clients aren't getting saved correctly.
look at the forest or terraria
characters are rolled back because you exceeded steam cloud that's one (the simpliest) example
"log off" and exit buttons are the "save" button when you are client, you press them = you saved character
if it fails then you screwed up something
just read what the log says, if it's not related to steam cloud then your log will probably tell you that you corrupted something (like it did in my case... I just fixed corruption and saving worked again)
btw since you screw up saving the game doesn't need to rollback anything, it simply loads the files that are there, you screwed up saving = no new save was generated ever
yes, and 90% of time it's found out to be steam cloud and 10% to be corruption caused by players
it doesn't save character info because characters are saved on different PC than the dedicated server
so it's pretty normal thing
Ark, Empyrion, Starbound, and even Minecraft...which is buggy as hell...doesn't save games in this manner. You host a server...your character files are saved...by the server. Never have we ever seen roll backs in those games. I have hundreds of hours in Terraria and know exactly how it works. Never had rollbacks in that game either...they seem to have it figured out...why can't Valheim?
It's not the method of saving that is the problem...it's that the method they think they are using is NOT working correctly.
mess with mods
mess with game code
mess with commands in console
just check the log instead of escaping from reality
that's what I did and it allowed me to fix the no saving problem...
Apparently not doing any of the above isn't making the game crash and roll back characters. we must all be under some sort of mass illusion. Thanks for clearing that up for me. I'll go ride my unicorn now.
