Cloud gaming works quite nicely to people like myself who owns an older PC and has no way of upgrading.
You should start thinking further than your nose.
You just get ripped off by companies like Nvidia that care only about profits.
♥censored-for-love♥ things like "cloud gaming" are services that are part of the reason why we consume more and more energy for "meh" services, games as a service is a terrible idea, the only ones that profits from this are big companies like nvidia, EA (origin access) and blizzard Activision, by paying for this you just enable an economic model where consumers get even less power to push for better quality products.
Explain to me what is an "older PC"
I still own a gtx 970 (released in 2014) and can play any game today , given that it launched at 330 $, it's a GC for 4 $ / a month (and that's not accounting for inflation), and it keeps going down until I buy a new one, which should not happen soon, And I managed to keep my i5-2500k until last year.
The cost of the entire computer is more than that, sure, but you don't play with 0 equipment either on geforce now, so total cost is obviously higher with the service.
How's that for " thinking further than your nose.".
Besides, subscription based models basically forces you to play each month, otherwise it's wasted money, it works nicely for phones and internet access because almost everyone use these services multiple times each months, it's completely different for a service like video games where you can easily decide to not play for a full month without much consequences.
Not so long ago if you didn't have the money for a game or you just wanted to try a game you could even ask for a friend to lend you his game for a while, you just had to carry the cartridge or CD and put it in your device.
thinking further than you nose would be to remember this and ponder about how much has been and is being lost by subscribing to those ♥censored-because-depth-of-vocabulary-is-overrated♥ "cloud gaming" services.
The only good piece on my computer is my i7. The rest is so outdated that games run in 30-40 fps at low settings. No thanks.
All I have is my computer, if I don't even have that; it's as good as I just go and jump off the bridge. Why wither in darkness doing nothing waiting the time to pass slowly.
Tech Support replied: "To change language to english in BF1 you have to run GFN client in english language. To do this you need to change your Windows region to english. Nie ma za co :P"
I am a little hinky about this response because:
1) The GFN poster did not indicate he wanted to play Battlefield 1 in English but he did not indicate a desire to play Battlefield 1 in English, only that he did not want to play it in Russian..
2) Assuming the answer is correct, the GFN poster's com;uter, wherever he bought it, must be running Windows in Russian to have Battlefield 1 running in Russian. One would think the poster would have complained about that as well.
3) Battlefield 1 and Valheim are not the same and may not be handled the same by GFN.
Additionally, changing your Windows language to English so you can run the GFN client in English so you can play Valheim using GFN in English seems very awkward. Sort of like flying from Helsinki to Stockholm with a stopover in Tokyo.
