Dedicated server won't launch post update [FIXED]

Tested on two computers, I could get a 4 day old save of the server to launch on both computers. Could not get the new one to launch on either. It slowly makes it's way through the generating of things 234 troll caves out of 250 blahblah then it eventually just closes the server as though it was commanded to.

When a server works it makes its way through things so fast you never see the generation of things.

When launching it from the game client it just crashes, so something with the world is causing it.

Same, when i connect to our dedicated server, i can see the server crash and i disconnect.

Same here.... a 250+ day save ....after update dedicated server starting and closing...

Yeah we're over day 500, thankfully we finished the majority of content and collected all trophies.

It seems that it's not crashing, as there is no log generated when launching it from the client. Just seems like the server is closing down.

exactly same here , and it works with à fresh save... , my old back up don't work too

So we created a new world on our dedicated server, and we can connect fine. So the problem is the Save file i am guessing that is causing the crashing. SO we either lost everything, and start new or they release a fix for it. It was only about 103 days, so not a huge lost.

I am guessing starting new because that is EA... Wouldn't be the first EA game i played where i lost a Save File. Back to the grind i guess lol.

My guess is some kind of mismatch between the new version and something in the world file. This should be something that can be reversed or fixed so long as they see it.

Unfortunately they are probably pretty busy right now, understandably with 2 million+ sales.

Worked for my dedicated server, were at like ~300 days or so. Server just kept entering a reset loop, would start up, reset, rinse and repeat

re-named the files, everything seems to be in working order. I dont know what side-effects this will case if any. Time will tell.

Thanks for that Fivenake, I was JUST about to post this thread that my wife found that fixed our server. Would suck to lose 500 days of work from 8 people.

We were having fun playing as cavemen and banging rocks together again, but I suppose we can return to our old one lol.
