And I need to constantly ask all my friend to logout -> restart the server -> rejoin after every time another friend want to join and they can't find the server listed in the server browser or if someone disconnected and it's a pain for everyone.
Trying to join directly via steam friend menu > Valheim > Join will give you server not responding error dialog.
but this has to be some valheim serverside issue.
but again, the rentable servers does not seem to have this issue, so who knows.
ive read on forums that people are experiencing some really strange things.
if i cannot connect to it internally, some times issue is solved pressing ctrl+c one time in server window. then some more text pops up, and i can connect.
but not working externally.
guess we gotta live with it, its early access.
But it is very anoying to have to run down to the basement to reboot router every evening...
I had the same problem when my internet crashed and then i could not connect to my server. I had to restart the router and look for the new public ip to find the server. Maybe its your internet having issues, if its unstable you will have troubles
and yes, allways close it using ctrl+c :)
maybe also worth mention that my IP is static, had the same ip since i moved to this house.
I think the cause is that the connection table or NAPT table of the router on the user side is being exceeded.
This is because the router receives a large number of UDP packets when many users are searching for the server.
Shortening the UDP connection timer on the router may solve this problem, but my router is not configurable.
I am hoping for a change in the server search specification.
