crashes everytime
Boom u build something great, farmed something or whatever. And boom crash, and crash and again another crash. Whats up with that?

Your specs? Do you use mods? Tried to update or better yet reinstall GPU drivers? DirectX? Did you verify your game files? Any programs running in background?

im having same issue just started doing it few hours ago i build then game locks up and goes not responding ,chopping trees same thing my event viewer shows its a application Hang

My game has crashed 3 times today. The only thing that I have that isn't under recommended is 8gb of RAM, instead of 16 gb. Would that cause a repeated crash?

I'm REAL new to PC gaming. Can anyone tell me how to check the log?

when you start game, there is button in the left bottom corner to see logs and saves
if game crashes before starts then you can manually go there
C:\Users\%username%\AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim\Player.log


it can be opened with notepad
but it's too big for a comment on steam, so either you read it and try to find errors and post them there or you throw it on website like "pastebin" and post link there

yes, that's how it looks like

but it's too short o-O
if your log really is like this then it's not going to be easy to find out what's going on

common (there are other possibilities too) in such situation it's either:
1) mod leftover files causing errors (full reinstall of game fixes this)
2) people editted something wrong in their game files etc (full reinstall fixes)
3) you started either game or steam as administrator (it likes to bug stuff, some games crash from this)
4) some program in the background doesn't like either valheim or unity engine (citrox workshop for example crashes unity engine games)



by "full" reinstall I mean manually remove the game's folder after you run steam uninstall and after you remove the folder you install it again
if you just do "uninstall" then some files might stay... and sometimes it might be one of corrupted files

i start game load in ok i move a bit then locks up ive been playing almost 300 hours with no issue it just started this morning now i cant stay in game for more that couple mins and yes that was all that was in the log im running on a paid server from gportal so no mods etc its been great till this morning

Same as you, no mods. I'm just playing in my solo world. I keep trying to cut down a tree, and everytime as it falls, it crashes the game. It just started crashing today for me. The crash appears in the log, but I'm not smart enough to figure out why it crashed lmao

Wait... your game crashes? or server crashes? or both?
Does it happen on singleplayer too? does it happen on different character?

I don't know how to access dedicated server logs tho, especially for rented guys, I think you can ask support about dedicated server log, but no idea if they will answer
