Valheim

Valheim

Anyone else experienced Valheim crashing their computer?
So, randomly the game has been crashing my computer. I will be playing on a shared world with my brother when randomly it will freeze, the audio freezing into a whine, and then the computer blue screens followed by a quick restart.
My computer otherwise seems to be fine. I ran the heaven stress test for 30 min without any problems just to be sure. Anyone else experiencing the same problem?

I’ve had two crashes in a few hundred hours. I had a high end rig 5 years ago

That's definitely a hardware issue, not a software issue.
I have had one crash total in my play time.

That sounds like something bad is going down in your computers guts. You may wanna bring it to a computer doctor for a checkup.

go to ASUS or whichever website has your drivers and download the firmware update for the video BIOS. It's not included in standard driver updates and it fixed it all for me. Runs much smoother too. I'm running the RX 5700 Dual EVO and i found it had a lot of the same problems as the XT

I'm definitely running at the low end of the acceptable specs (i5 with 8GB ram and radeon 6700). The game never crashes during play for me (played on dumbed down settings). However, it probably crashes windows 10 itself 9 times out of 10 on exit. I can log out to the menu screen no problem, but it's the process of quitting the game from that causes the BSOD. I've tried using task manager to end the task, closing steam, leaving the login menu for both long periods of time and not in the background (thinking maybe it was a warm graphics card). I can't find anything that appears to be the trigger other than the game is buggy af and doesn't use resources properly.

For me event viewer only lists it as a AppHangB1 error. And because the game itself doesn't crash I have no crash logs for Valheim.

I'm running a gtx 1070. It gets crazy hot in this game, like up to 82 C.

I wouldn't think so because it is stable in other games and if you read, I did a stress test which passed without crashing.

Yeah... Thinking about it more, this game probably has trouble utilizing graphics cards efficiently since it is still in development. I hope the devs are aware.

Yes.
I have come across four different kinds of crashes since Valheim has launched, non of which have been fixed. Possibly some kind of memory leak as well.

MANY of the people i know have either had all four or just one or two from time to time.
With every update I hope that the Devs will talk about successful crash fixing, or at least slap it at the top of their road map, but sadly, no. Nothing.
Instead they talk about upcoming content- which, to me, is maddening.
Dont expect crash fixes anytime soon.
If i were you id come back in another six months.
