Total power loss crash
Hello community,

So, Valheim is the only game I have this issue on. I could be playing for 5 minutes or five hours. It's pretty random on the crash. I don't blue screen, the .exe does not just stop working, my system shuts off hard. its clearly not as intended because the Board LED's stay on and when I reboot wallpaper engine starts in safe mode.

Specs:
asrock razer x570 taichi
5950x (Watercooled)
32gb 3400mhz trident z's
3080ti (Watercooled & Liquid Metal)
phanteks/seasonic 1000w revolt x
2x 2tb samsung 980 pro m.2

running game maxed out in vulcan at 3440 x 1440p

I have looked into this for a couple days now and tried a variety of fixes to no avail. I saw something listing a code exemption call to the CPU causing the critical shutdown error, so if it is the games code then I just want some assurance it's being worked on I guess. Till then I've enabled the console so that I can save more often.

Thanks,

Same here. Not sure why it'll cause that.

yeah i only tried vulcan after it had been crashing. it seemed to run better. but either way it really didn't make a difference. i just did a total wipe of my pc. (do it every year cause i upgrade hardware so often) so we shall see if getting rid of all the old asus crap fixes it.

Recently purchased a system with a 3080ti and this is happening pretty much the same. I've seen similar posts on other forums, and it appears to be a know issue. Stopped playing until this is fixed.

I'm too invested right now lol. my shortgap measure is i've enabled console commands to save constantly.

i reset my OS and that had no effect. made sure everything was updated and such.

i'm going to try to run my world on my second pc using a dedicated server client and see if i crash as much. my second rig is a 1080 and a 3800x with 16 gigs of ram so its solid enough to kinda just do whatever with. if nothing else it will keep my family and friends from disconnecting when my main rig dies.
