I've seen things like this, yeah. A few times into the Mistlands and I'm swimming in either mage caps or jotun puff; other times, it's a more-or-less healthy balance. Seems like it can be any biome, too - think about how many people have difficulty finding turnip seeds in the swamps, while others just stumble into clusters of them their first foray. And, as you pointed out, the feast-or-famine with Cultist trophy drops.
Heck, started a map a couple weeks ago and even in the Meadows I could only find the two starting red mushrooms at the spawn point, but it was raspberry bushes for days otherwise.
yup, so probably just bad luck, thanks for the share.
Same thing for me with berry/mushroom balance.
About turnip seeds i noticed it's generally a mid to heavy pain in the axe, i know beacause pre-Elder swamp incursions just to get my first 3 seeds is a thing i do every playthrough, i think this is because of swamp terrain carachteristics, you need a decent patch of dry and "high" land to allow them spawning, same reason mushrooms are quite rare there compared to meadows and black forest.
Luckily it only takes a few plants to get started, just takes a few more grow cycles to catch up. I cannot count how many times I started out from only a couple turnip seeds or onion seeds.
As a mage you'll be happy, so is Odin
chicken and eggs are useless since the feast update
why? i really don't get it
honey glazed chicken and mushroom omelettes are far from useless in my opinion, misthare and fish'n'bread are a bit better but harder to get, makes a lot of sense to me. Food variety is a big part of the game, feasts included, but i think they fill another spot: before there was a bit of lack of balanced foods (mostly early game and generally lower value) and feasts fixed it, am i missing something?
