While you're at it also set death penalty to minimum.
Maybe even pump up the resource multiplier.
Your time is valuable, so don't let the game waste it (unless you want it to).
You can lure the trolls away and just keep them busy chasing you instead of demoing your base and once you get stone itll be a lot harder for them to break it.
If you are unlucky to get troll attacks, lure them away from your base even if you keep dying. The attack will fade. Don't give up, this is just a challenge to overcome!
Then stand on the wall, shoot or drop poison and laugh maniacally.
If the way you deal with raids instead of disabling them, is abusing pathing/terraforming to remove any kind of impact they could have, why would you not just disable them to begin with? You're already going out of your way to not deal with them...
Well I guess unless you really really like the hunted event and it's worth it just for that (seek help, the next mountain is closer than you think).
It's a video game, not a war simulation. Nice if it makes you feel smarter, but really you're just disabling them with extra steps.
