just beat the elder and now i'm done with the game...
because now my bases are getting attacked by trolls EVERY 45 MINUTES.
Not a 24% chance it's become a 100% chance.
rebuliding after an attack.
attacked again immediately before i finished the rebuild.
i'm gone.

Disable raids in the world settings (can be done anytime even if you already played on it a bunch).

While you're at it also set death penalty to minimum.
Maybe even pump up the resource multiplier.

Your time is valuable, so don't let the game waste it (unless you want it to).

You can turn off all raids in your settings. When starting the game go to world modifiers.

I think you just got unlucky? Ive had both. Most days its in the middle some days its no raids at all some days its constant raids. Id not give up so easily.

You can lure the trolls away and just keep them busy chasing you instead of demoing your base and once you get stone itll be a lot harder for them to break it.

Build a trench (with wood floor bridges to cross) or a earth wall (with narrow door opening in a gap) surrounding your base. Make sure the gap between your trench/wall and base is wide enough to account for tree club swing depth or stone throw distance.

If you are unlucky to get troll attacks, lure them away from your base even if you keep dying. The attack will fade. Don't give up, this is just a challenge to overcome!

This ^^^, trench. I trench everything.

That's unfortunate, and we're all familiar with the challenges. In situations like these, the ingenuity of players becomes pivotal for survival. There are various strategies to handle troll raids, ranging from digging trenches to constructing walls. Personally, I like building walls. The key with walls is to position them at a considerable distance from your base—the farther, the better. At times, by staying concealed in your house, trolls, unable to spot anything to attack, might simply wander around the walls without causing any harm.

Raids are difficult as solo. Disable completely or use Mods to disable the bulldozer ones.

You really don't need a huge base on singleplayer. What you can do, and what I recommend is that you close off your base by raising ground, effectively creating an earth wall (this can't be damaged)) further, use reinforced walls and spikes at the top of the dirt. You'll never have issues with raids again.

We do both; a wall tall enough that the "inside" will kill you if you forgot to eat food and a moat on the "outside" deep enough that trolls can't reach over the "other side" and have no chance to reach over the "inside".

Then stand on the wall, shoot or drop poison and laugh maniacally.

The game gives you spiked walls of various types that are effective against a troll raid or any other raid. So much of the game is preparation, you played till you couldn't brute force it anymore then threw a tantrum and quit lol bye

Raise ground or dig trenches around your base. Use grey matter that nature gave you, play smarter not harder. Kill few trolls make armor out of their leather, upgrade it to max level and you are good to progress up to the mountains biom, included.

I've never really understood this mentality tbh.
If the way you deal with raids instead of disabling them, is abusing pathing/terraforming to remove any kind of impact they could have, why would you not just disable them to begin with? You're already going out of your way to not deal with them...
Well I guess unless you really really like the hunted event and it's worth it just for that (seek help, the next mountain is closer than you think).

Its not abusing its smart way to play, raid can happen any time when you near 3 base/camp objects. During war, soldiers hide in bunkers/trenches and so on, is that abuse as well?

By that logic, disabling them is even smarter lol
It's a video game, not a war simulation. Nice if it makes you feel smarter, but really you're just disabling them with extra steps.
