Deer taming

I have been loosely following the game for a while, after dumping like 800 hours in a couple years ago.

I thought I saw something about deer taming in. Is it in, or am is my crappy memory just being crappy again?

If so, how?

You can't tame deer but hunting them is easy once you have a bow.

You don't even need a bow. Just sneak at them. I do that right at the beginning of a new world, so I don't have to run around in those measly rags. Save the leather for the bow. And THEN you can go for much bigger prey:

Trolls.

You need about 20someodd wooden arrows to fell a troll with a lvl 1 Crude Bow. Best way to get the right armor that is going to serve you right into the swamp.

By the end of the first day I have always had enough material to build a spear or a crude bow and deer are simple after that. My first deer hides always go into a rug in the lodge for that extra rested buff duration and by the time I have enough deer trophies to go after the first boss I have my level 1 hide armor. I don't usually go after trolls until I have the antler pick.

Helpful tip, A troll drops even faster if you use flint arrows instead of wooden ones. 12 shots if the first one is a sneak attack. Even fewer if you are hitting the troll's head.
