Do you actually have a top tier machine, though? I do, and the game runs fine on max settings.
Update video drivers, and make sure any/all bloatware is NOT running in the background of windows.
Because it is a major isuue many people are having. It is new with Ashlands. The more people that report it the greater chance (hopefully) the devs will look into it.
Is that the case, though? You generally don't see people posting: 'everything works fine!' It is only those who do experience issues that post, so there is a heavy bias towards 'issues'.
The game has never been particularly optimised, but the vast majority of complaints stem from two things in general: people overestimating their machines and failure to update drivers. The first is simply fixed by lowering settings, the second requires updating drivers. Yet, somehow peope would rather moan and complain than do these things first.
Of course, there is a third culprit: old mods that haven't been updated and cause all sorts of issues. But hey, let's blame the devs!
